17-year-old charged with attempted murder after attempted car-jacking in Selly Oak

A TEENAGER has been charged with attempted murder after a young man was stabbed following a car jacking in Selly Oak on Sunday morning.

The 15-year-old who cannot be named for legal reasons will appear before Birmingham Magistrates today and has also been charged with six counts of attempted robbery.

A 17-year-old boy who was also arrested in connection with the incident has also been charged with six counts of attempted robbery while the 15-year-old girl who was being held has been released without charge.

The 22-year-old victim remains in hospital in a critical but stable condition.

He was found by a friend in an alleyway off Heeley Road in Selly Oak at around 6.30am on the Sunday morning.

Police still want to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone who has any information. They are urged to call 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
